Duke graduate student in David Smith's metamaterials lab 2006-2009 who returned to Shenzhen and founded Kuang-Chi Technology, which Duke faculty alleged commercialized Duke research using misappropriated data. Civil + reputational dispute; no US criminal conviction. Kuang-Chi later listed on US Entity List 2020.
