Deeper analysis
CVE-2024-50578 is a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability (CWE-79) affecting JetBrains YouTrack versions prior to 2024.3.47707. The flaw resides in the agile boards page, where unsanitized sprint values can be persisted and later rendered without proper escaping.
An authenticated attacker with low-privileged access can supply a malicious sprint value that executes JavaScript in the context of other users who subsequently view the affected board. Because the attack requires user interaction to trigger, the CVSS vector reflects limited impact on confidentiality and integrity with no availability consequence.
JetBrains has addressed the issue in the 2024.3.47707 release, as noted on their published security fixes page. The associated EPSS score has remained flat at 0.2166 with no indicated upward trajectory after disclosure.
