CVE-2025-34280
Published: 30 October 2025
Summary
CVE-2025-34280 is a high-severity OS Command Injection (CWE-78) vulnerability in Nagios Network Analyzer. Its CVSS base score is 8.6 (High).
Operationally, ranked in the top 22.0% of CVEs by exploit likelihood; it is not currently listed in the CISA KEV catalog; a public proof-of-concept is referenced.
Deeper analysis
Nagios Network Analyzer versions prior to 2024R2.0.1 contain an OS command injection vulnerability in the LDAP certificate management functionality. The certificate removal operation lacks adequate input sanitization, allowing improper data to reach system commands executed by the web application service.
An authenticated administrator can supply crafted input during certificate removal to execute arbitrary commands on the underlying host. This grants remote code execution with the privileges of the web application service, affecting confidentiality, integrity, and availability on the server.
Nagios advisory information and the associated changelog indicate that upgrading to version 2024R2.0.1 resolves the issue by correcting the input handling in the LDAP certificate removal path. The referenced VulnCheck advisory further documents the affected component and the required update.
The EPSS score remains flat at 0.0105 with no material increase observed after disclosure.
