Summary

CVE-2026-51886 is a critical-severity Code Injection (CWE-94) vulnerability. Its CVSS base score is 9.8 (Critical).

Operationally, exploitation aligns with the MITRE ATT&CK technique Command and Scripting Interpreter (T1059); ranked at the 32th percentile by exploit likelihood (below the median); it is not currently listed in the CISA KEV catalog.

This vulnerability is AI-related — categorised as LLM Application Platforms.

The strongest mitigations our analysis identified map to AC-6 (Least Privilege) and SA-11 (Developer Testing and Evaluation) — see the control section below for these in your framework.

into a server-side compile/exec validation path without any visible entitlement guard. ¶¶ A weakness has been identified in langflow-ai langflow up to 1.9.3. langflow contains a code injection vulnerability in validate-post_validate_code-a-real-authenticated-http-post-to-api-v1 (src/backend/base/langflow/api/v1/validate.py:13). An authenticated attacker can execute arbitrary Python code on the server by submitting malicious code to the /api/v1/validate/code endpoint, which directly executes user-supplied code without sandboxing or security controls.

Mitigating Controls (NIST 800-53 r5) AI

Least privilege limits the damage an injected code fragment can perform once executed.

Developer testing and evaluation finds code paths that accept and execute externally influenced strings.

Requiring documented secure development standards and tools enforces use of safe code-generation APIs and escaping.

Input validation directly stops untrusted data from being used to construct executable code without neutralization.

PR.PS-06 mostly match
blocks

PR.PS-06's SDLC practices directly target injection flaws via secure coding and testing (mostly), yet as a single broad outcome it leaves many code-generation specifics unaddressed (partial).

PR.DS-10 none match
blocks

PR.DS-10 protects runtime data confidentiality/integrity but has no bearing on neutralizing externally influenced input during code generation, so neither direction shows any preventive effect.
