Published: 16 April 2025
Summary
CVE-2025-31350 is a high-severity SQL Injection (CWE-89) vulnerability in Siemens Telecontrol Server Basic. Its CVSS base score is 8.7 (High).
Operationally, ranked at the 23.3th percentile by exploit likelihood (below the median); it is not currently listed in the CISA KEV catalog.
Deeper analysis
A vulnerability has been identified in TeleControl Server Basic versions prior to V3.1.2.2 consisting of an SQL injection flaw in the internally used UpdateBufferingSettings method. The issue is tracked as CVE-2025-31350 and carries a CVSS 4.0 score of 8.7 with CWE-89. Successful exploitation allows an authenticated remote attacker with network access to port 8000 to bypass authorization controls, read from and write to the application database, and execute code under the NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService account.
An attacker who can reach the affected service on port 8000 may leverage the injection to perform unauthorized database operations and achieve code execution with service-level privileges. The attack requires valid authentication credentials but does not need user interaction or special network positioning beyond reachability of the exposed port.
Siemens has published advisory SSA-443402 that addresses the issue and provides remediation guidance for TeleControl Server Basic.
The EPSS score for this CVE rose from a low of 0.0008 to a peak of 0.0100 after disclosure, indicating emerging exploitation interest that warrants renewed attention.
