Summary

CVE-2026-107807 is a high-severity Cleartext Storage of Sensitive Information (CWE-312) vulnerability. Its CVSS base score is 8.8 (High).

Operationally, exploitation aligns with the MITRE ATT&CK technique Junk Data (T1001.001); ranked at the 22th percentile by exploit likelihood (below the median); it is not currently listed in the CISA KEV catalog.

The strongest mitigations our analysis identified map to SC-28 (Protection of Information at Rest) — see the control section below for these in your framework.

Vulnerability Data

Nginx UI is a web user interface for the Nginx web server. From 2.0.0 until 2.5.0, Nginx UI accepts the Node.Secret master credential through the node_secret query parameter in HTTP and WebSocket authentication paths instead of requiring the X-Node-Secret header.…

more

The credential can consequently appear in access logs, proxy logs, browser history, Referer headers, configuration URLs, and deployment environment data. A party that obtains the secret can bypass normal password, JWT, session, and second-factor checks and obtain persistent administrative API access, including access to configuration and secret material. This issue is fixed in version 2.5.0.

SC-28 requires cryptographic or equivalent protection of sensitive data at rest, directly stopping cleartext storage in accessible resources.

finds

When clear-text sensitive data is detected leaving controlled storage, the control can block the transfer, thereby limiting the exposure that would result from unencrypted storage on external media or cloud services.

degrades

Network security controls can enforce HTTPS and block sensitive data in URLs.

removes

created from the owner's anchor; an owner grade is a row and does not wait for an instrument (Mythos 2026-09-29T15:58Z).

blocks

A.8.26 only requires that security requirements (including those that could address query-string exposure) be identified and specified during development; it does not itself enforce, implement or stop exploitation of sensitive data in the query string

blocks

Secure architecture principles discourage exposing sensitive data in URLs.

prevents

Secure coding standards directly prohibit placing secrets in query parameters.
