The Post Timeline WordPress plugin before version 2.2.6 contains a reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability. The plugin fails to sanitize and escape an invalid nonce value before echoing it back within an AJAX response, allowing the flaw to be triggered through a crafted request.
An unauthenticated attacker can exploit the issue by convincing a high-privilege user such as an administrator to interact with a malicious link or page, resulting in script execution in the victim's browser context with a CVSS score of 6.1.
