Deeper analysis
The WP BASE Booking of Appointments, Services and Events plugin for WordPress is affected by CVE-2024-12558, a missing authorization vulnerability (CWE-862) in the export_db function. The flaw exists in all versions through 4.9.2 and stems from the absence of a capability check that would restrict access to the database export routine.
An authenticated attacker with Subscriber-level privileges or higher can invoke the export function over the network to retrieve arbitrary database contents, including sensitive values such as the hashed administrator password. The CVSS 3.1 score of 6.5 reflects network attack vector, low complexity, and high confidentiality impact with no integrity or availability effects.
The referenced Wordfence advisory and WordPress plugin repository changesets indicate that the issue is resolved in version 5.0.0 by adding the required authorization checks to export-import.php. Site administrators should update the plugin to this or a later release to eliminate the exposure.
The associated EPSS score has reached a peak of 0.4175 with a current value of 0.3695.

Per-CVE control mapping for this CVE has not run yet; the list below is derived from the weakness types (CWEs) cited in the NVD entry.
Requiring an access control policy ensures authorization checks are defined and applied for critical functions.
Reviews of access controls detect missing authorization checks on critical functions or resources.
Documenting permitted unauthenticated actions prevents missing authorization by making all exceptions explicit and subject to organizational review.
Requiring attribute association with information prevents authorization from being performed without necessary security or privacy context.
Mandating authorization prior to allowing remote connections addresses missing authorization for remote access.
Mandating authorization before wireless connections are allowed prevents missing authorization for wireless access.
The control requires authorization before allowing mobile device connections, directly mitigating missing authorization for system access.
Requiring approvals for account creation and specifying authorizations ensures authorization is not missing for system access.
