Deeper analysis

The WPS Hide Login plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to login page disclosure in all versions through 1.9.15.2. The flaw stems from insufficient handling of the action=postpass parameter, which creates a bypass that reveals the location of any login page the plugin was intended to hide. The issue carries a CVSS 3.1 base score of 5.3 and is tracked under CWE-863.

Unauthenticated remote attackers can supply the parameter in a crafted request to enumerate the hidden login endpoint, after which they may proceed with further attacks such as brute-force or targeted credential stuffing against the now-exposed administrative interface.

A fix was released in changeset 3099109 on the WordPress plugin repository, and Wordfence published corresponding threat intelligence detailing the vulnerability and remediation. The EPSS score reached a peak of 0.2149 with a current value of 0.1701.
