The Contact Form Plugin by Fluent Forms for Quiz, Survey, and Drag & Drop WP Form Builder for WordPress is affected by CVE-2024-2771, a missing capability check on the /wp-json/fluentform/v1/managers REST API endpoint. The flaw exists in all versions through 5.1.16 and is tracked under CWE-862. Unauthenticated network callers can therefore add or remove Fluent Forms manager accounts without authentication.

An attacker can exploit the endpoint to assign themselves or other users full management rights over the plugin, granting access to every setting and feature, or to delete existing manager accounts. The vulnerability carries a CVSS 3.1 score of 9.8, reflecting that no user interaction or privileges are required and that confidentiality, integrity, and availability impacts are all high.

Public references point to a fix committed in changeset 3088078 that updates RoleManagerPolicy.php to enforce proper authorization on the endpoint. Site administrators should apply the patched version of the plugin as soon as it is available.
