Deeper analysis
The WP Hotel Booking plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to SQL injection in all versions through 2.1.0. The flaw exists in the /wphb/v1/rooms/search-rooms REST API endpoint, where the room_type parameter is insufficiently escaped and the corresponding SQL query is not properly prepared before execution.
Unauthenticated attackers can supply crafted input to this endpoint over the network and append arbitrary SQL statements to existing queries. Successful exploitation can result in extraction of sensitive database contents, with the vulnerability carrying a CVSS 3.1 score of 10.0 reflecting its critical impact across confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
The referenced Wordfence advisory and WordPress plugin changelog indicate that the issue was addressed in a subsequent plugin release; site administrators should update to the patched version. The associated EPSS score remains elevated near 0.79–0.82, indicating sustained exploitation interest after disclosure.
