The Download Manager plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion in the savePackage function due to insufficient file path validation. The flaw affects all versions through 3.3.12 and is tracked as CWE-22 path traversal, carrying a CVSS 3.1 score of 8.8.
Authenticated users with Author privileges or higher can supply crafted inputs to delete arbitrary files on the underlying server. Successful exploitation of files such as wp-config.php can readily result in remote code execution.
