Deeper analysis
The vulnerability is a PHP Local File Inclusion flaw (CWE-98) caused by improper control of filenames in include/require statements within the Smart Agreements WordPress plugin. It affects all versions through 1.0.3 and allows an attacker to influence which local PHP files are loaded during execution.
An unauthenticated remote attacker can trigger the issue over the network, though successful exploitation requires high attack complexity and user interaction. If achieved, the flaw grants the ability to read or execute arbitrary local files, resulting in high impact to confidentiality, integrity, and availability on the affected site.
The Patchstack advisory identifies the vulnerability in the plugin and directs administrators to apply the fix released by the vendor for versions newer than 1.0.3.
EPSS remains low and unchanged at 0.0134 with no observed rise after disclosure, indicating limited public exploitation interest to date.
