Deeper analysis
Marvell QConvergeConsole contains a directory traversal vulnerability in the decryptFile method that permits arbitrary file writes. The flaw stems from missing validation of user-supplied paths before they are used in file operations, enabling remote attackers to place files anywhere on the system. The issue affects installations of the product and carries a CVSS 3.1 score of 7.5 with a CWE-22 classification.
Unauthenticated remote attackers can exploit the weakness over the network to write arbitrary files in the context of the SYSTEM account, potentially leading to code execution or persistence without any user interaction.
The vulnerability was reported as ZDI-CAN-24979 and is documented in Zero Day Initiative advisory ZDI-25-462. The EPSS score remains flat at 0.0309 with no material increase observed after disclosure.
