Deeper analysis
The ConvertCalculator plugin for WordPress is affected by a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability (CWE-79) in all versions through 1.1.1. The flaw resides in insufficient sanitization and escaping of the id and type parameters, allowing malicious script content to be persisted and later rendered in plugin output.
Authenticated users with Contributor or higher privileges can exploit the issue by supplying crafted parameter values when creating or editing content. The injected scripts execute in the browsers of any visitors who view the affected pages, enabling theft of session tokens or other client-side actions within the site context. The vulnerability carries a CVSS 3.1 score of 6.4.
A fix has been published in the plugin repository, as evidenced by the changeset that updates the affected code paths; site administrators should apply the newest version available through the WordPress plugin directory. The associated EPSS score has remained flat at 0.2410 with no material increase after disclosure.
