Deeper analysis

In JetBrains TeamCity versions prior to 2024.03, a cross-site scripting vulnerability (CWE-79) exists in the Agent Distribution settings. The flaw carries a CVSS 4.6 rating reflecting network attack vector, low attack complexity, low privileges required, and required user interaction, resulting in limited impacts to confidentiality and integrity.

An authenticated attacker with low privileges can supply crafted input through the affected settings to trigger script execution in another user's browser session. Successful exploitation allows limited data exposure or modification within the TeamCity interface but does not enable full system compromise.

The vendor advisory at the JetBrains security issues page recommends upgrading to TeamCity 2024.03 or later to resolve the issue.

EPSS for this CVE rose sharply from a low baseline to a peak of 0.9120 on 2026-01-13 before receding to the current value of 0.0528, indicating a period of heightened exploitation interest after disclosure.
