Summary

CVE-2026-57112 is a high-severity Missing Authentication for Critical Function (CWE-306) vulnerability. Its CVSS base score is 8.3 (High).

Operationally, exploitation aligns with the MITRE ATT&CK technique ARP Cache Poisoning (T1557.002); ranked at the 9th percentile by exploit likelihood (below the median); it is not currently listed in the CISA KEV catalog.

This vulnerability is AI-related — categorised as AI Agent Protocols and Integrations; in the Protocol-Specific Risks risk domain.

The strongest mitigations our analysis identified map to AC-14 (Permitted Actions Without Identification or Authentication) and AC-24 (Access Control Decisions) — see the control section below for these in your framework.

Vulnerability Data

PraisonAI is a multi-agent teams system. From praisonaiagents 0.6.0 until 1.6.59 and PraisonAI 3.10.0 until 4.6.59, ToolsMCPServer.run_sse() in src/praisonai-agents/praisonaiagents/mcp/mcp_server.py mounts SseServerTransport on the legacy /sse and /messages/ endpoints without default Host, Origin, or authentication enforcement. A malicious website can use…

DNS rebinding against a reachable local or internal SSE server, supply attacker-controlled Host and Origin headers, enumerate registered tools, and invoke them with the server user's privileges. The Streamable HTTP transport rejects the same hostile Origin, which isolates the flaw to the legacy SSE wrapper. An initial remediation was released in praisonaiagents 1.6.59 and PraisonAI 4.6.59.

Mitigating Controls (NIST 800-53 r5) AI

Explicitly identifies and limits actions permitted without authentication, preventing critical functions from being exposed.

AC-24 mandates that access control decisions are applied to each request, preventing bypass of authorization logic.

AC-25 requires a tamperproof, always-invoked reference monitor that ensures authorization checks cannot be omitted.

Access enforcement requires prior authentication before any authorization decision for critical functions.

Information flow enforcement directly requires validating the source of data before allowing transmission or receipt.

AC-6 reduces the set of actions reachable without proper authorization, limiting blast radius of missing checks.

ID.AM-03 partial match
prevents

Documenting authorized flows supports origin validation by defining expected sources.

PR.AA-01 partial match
prevents

Managing identities and credentials is a prerequisite for authentication but does not itself enforce it on critical functions.

PR.AA-03 partial match
prevents

Directly requires authentication of users/services/hardware, which eliminates missing authentication for critical functions.

PR.AA-04 partial match
prevents

Verifying identity assertions enforces origin validation for conveyed claims.

PR.AA-05 partial match
prevents

Defining and enforcing authorizations assumes prior authentication and therefore only partially mitigates the absence of authentication.

PR.IR-01 partial match
prevents

Protecting networks from unauthorized access can be undermined by missing authentication but does not address the root authentication gap.

Mitigating Controls (ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Annex A) AI

prevents

Requiring formal authorization of every access request before rights are granted ensures that checks for required permissions are performed, preventing missing authorization checks from being introduced.

prevents

Mandatory authorization checks and central records of granted rights ensure that every access attempt is preceded by an explicit decision rather than relying on missing checks.

mitigates

Segregating the approval of access rights from their implementation provides an independent check that reduces the impact of missing authorization checks in the resulting system configuration.

finds

By requiring competent outsiders to verify that every function enforces the need-to-know principle, the control lowers the likelihood that missing authorization checks persist undetected.

prevents

Mandating authentication requirements for critical functions at the requirements-gathering stage ensures that essential operations are not left unprotected by missing login or verification mechanisms.

mitigates

Network security controls enforce origin validation at network boundaries.
