Deeper analysis
The vulnerability is an SQL injection flaw (CWE-89) in the EU Cookie Law GDPR (Banner + Blocker) module for PrestaShop prior to version 2.1.3. It is triggered when the module processes specially crafted values in the lgcookieslaw or __lglaw cookies, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary SQL statements into backend database queries.
An attacker with network access can send malicious HTTP requests containing the crafted cookies to any PrestaShop site using the affected module. Because the CVSS vector indicates no authentication or user interaction is required, successful exploitation can result in disclosure or modification of sensitive database contents, corresponding to the observed high confidentiality and integrity impacts.
The module was updated to 2.1.3 to address the issue. The EPSS score has remained flat at 0.2072 with no material increase after disclosure.
