Summary

CVE-2024-2387 is a medium-severity SQL Injection (CWE-89) vulnerability in Wordpress (inferred from references). Its CVSS base score is 6.1 (Medium).

Operationally, ranked in the top 2.3% of CVEs by exploit likelihood; it is not currently listed in the CISA KEV catalog.

Deeper analysis

The Advanced Form Integration plugin for WordPress, which connects WooCommerce and Contact Form 7 to external platforms such as Google Sheets, is affected by a SQL injection vulnerability in all versions through 1.82.0. The flaw resides in the integration_id parameter within class-adfoin-log-table.php, where user-supplied input is not properly escaped and the existing SQL queries lack prepared statement protection, corresponding to CWE-89.

Unauthenticated remote attackers can supply crafted input to append additional SQL statements. Successful exploitation can result in arbitrary web script injection into pages that execute when a targeted user performs an action such as clicking a malicious link, consistent with the CVSS 6.1 vector that requires user interaction over the network.

The referenced Wordfence advisory and WordPress plugin trac changesets document the vulnerable code paths at lines 227 and 275 of class-adfoin-log-table.php along with the corrective changeset that updates the affected plugin versions. The EPSS score has remained near its recorded peak of 0.4540 with a current value of 0.4481.

escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries and subsequently inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link.
