Deeper analysis
CVE-2025-32840 is an SQL injection vulnerability in Siemens TeleControl Server Basic versions prior to V3.1.2.2. The flaw exists in the internally used LockGateway method and is tracked under CWE-89. An attacker who can reach TCP port 8000 on a host running the affected software can leverage the injection to interact directly with the application's database.
An authenticated remote attacker can exploit the issue to bypass authorization checks, read from and write to the database, and execute operating-system commands under the NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService account. The CVSS 4.0 score of 8.7 reflects network attack vector, low attack complexity, and high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability without requiring user interaction.
The Siemens advisory SSA-443402 recommends upgrading to version V3.1.2.2 or later to address the vulnerability.
EPSS for the CVE rose from a baseline of 0.0004 to a peak of 0.0100, indicating increased exploitation interest after disclosure.
