Deeper analysis
A vulnerability has been identified in TeleControl Server Basic versions prior to V3.1.2.2 consisting of an SQL injection flaw in the internally used UnlockDatabaseSettings method. The affected component is the TeleControl Server Basic application, which listens on port 8000 and maintains its own database.
An authenticated remote attacker with network access to port 8000 can exploit the flaw to bypass authorization controls, read from and write to the application database, and execute code under the NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService account. The attack requires valid credentials but no user interaction and carries a CVSS 4.0 score of 8.7.
The Siemens advisory at https://cert-portal.siemens.com/productcert/html/ssa-443402.html addresses the issue by identifying all versions prior to V3.1.2.2 as vulnerable and directing users to apply the corrected release.
EPSS for the CVE rose from a low of 0.0005 to a peak of 0.0100, indicating that exploitation interest increased after disclosure.
