Deeper analysis
Marvell QConvergeConsole contains a directory traversal vulnerability in the getFileUploadBytes method that permits remote information disclosure. The flaw stems from insufficient validation of user-supplied paths before they are used in file operations, allowing an unauthenticated attacker to read arbitrary files on affected installations. The issue was assigned ZDI-CAN-24917 and carries a CVSS 3.0 base score of 7.5 with network attack vector and no required authentication or user interaction.
An unauthenticated remote attacker can supply a crafted path to the getFileUploadBytes function and retrieve sensitive files from the target system running in the context of the SYSTEM account. Successful exploitation yields disclosure of confidential data without any prior credentials or user assistance.
The vulnerability was publicly detailed in Zero Day Initiative advisory ZDI-25-456. Its EPSS score rose from low values to a peak of 0.2557 on 2025-12-11 before receding to the current 0.2023, indicating measurable post-disclosure exploitation interest.
