CVE-2026-103097
Raw vector
CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:NCVSS and EPSS are reproduced from their sources (NVD, FIRST EPSS). Risk Priority is our own derived reading, not an NVD score.
Summary
CVE-2026-103097 is a high-severity Cleartext Storage of Sensitive Information (CWE-312) vulnerability in Com (inferred from references). Its CVSS base score is 7.5 (High).
Operationally, exploitation aligns with the MITRE ATT&CK technique Credentials In Files (T1552.001); ranked at the 4th percentile by exploit likelihood (below the median); it is not currently listed in the CISA KEV catalog.
The strongest mitigations our analysis identified map to IA-5 (Authenticator Management) and SA-11 (Developer Testing and Evaluation) — see the control section below for these in your framework.

Vulnerability Data
An API key is hardcoded and retrievable from the application package. Since Android applications can be reverse engineered, embedding sensitive API credentials directly in the client application may allow unauthorized users to extract and misuse the key.

Mitigating Controls (NIST 800-53 r5) AI
Authenticator management requires secure distribution and handling of credentials, structurally discouraging hard-coded values.
Developer testing and static analysis locate hard-coded sensitive values before code is deployed.
Engineering principles require secrets to be externalized rather than embedded in source.
Cryptographic key management mandates proper establishment and handling instead of embedding keys in code.
SC-28 requires cryptographic or equivalent protection of sensitive data at rest, directly stopping cleartext storage in accessible resources.
Mitigating Controls (NIST CSF 2.0) AI
Derived directly from the weakness types (CWEs) cited in the NVD entry via our AI-authored CWE→CSF cross-walk (authority under review) — links open the control.
PR.AA-01's credential/key-management processes can reduce the incentive to embed secrets but do not address or detect hard-coded values in source code, so the weakness remains fully possible.
Encryption and cryptographic controls for data-at-rest directly prevent cleartext storage of sensitive information.
Secure SDLC practices directly prohibit embedding secrets or sensitive data in source code.
PR.AA-02 addresses human identity proofing and per-person credential issuance at enrollment; it has no bearing on whether developers embed static credentials in software.
Mitigating Controls (ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Annex A) AI
Derived directly from the weakness types (CWEs) cited in the NVD entry via our AI-authored CWE→ISO cross-walk (authority under review) — links open the control.
A.5.12 only defines and communicates a classification scheme so that protection needs can be understood; it does not itself stop source code from containing or exposing sensitive information, per the owner's rule that labeling/classification is a dependency rather than a preventer unless other controls act on it.
A.5.15 only requires defining and communicating an access control policy plus rules that reference other controls; it performs no enforcement that would stop exploitation of sensitive information left in accessible source code.

Configuration rules from DISA STIG baselines that bear on weaknesses of the type cited by this CVE. Each rule is shown with the relationship its mapping actually records, against the CWE it was authored against.
